yesterday who refused to give him name
Mr Nobody ( the nameless Chinese Man )
representing Cell C at ICASA yesterday)
This is the
Nameless man who represented Cell C at the
ICASA hearing yesterday ( complaint No.
Ref:GAU4286/11 ) He arrived 20 minutes late
and had a total no care attitude to the
Hearing.
He refused to
disclose his name and had no visiting card
or identification on him.
He led the
Cell C response and had no knowledge of the
Problem in Question, or the sequence of
events that had taken place from September
2010 with us and MWEB, and was totally
unprepared for the meeting. He had no
knowledge of Cell phones or data packs or
what Product we had.
He tried to
discredit the Complainant about their
Professional Profile which had no relevance
to the Cell C no service/ no signal
problem.This seems to be the way complaints
are handled in South Africa. Nothing was
resolved at the meeting and we still have no
signal on our data pack.
The Meeting /
hearing was a total waste of time, which is
the norm in South Africa . We still have no
Signal.

of your complaint:
We are a South
African Professional Body and clients of
Cell C for Data.
We and about
250,000 thousand Cell C Clients in South
Africa have had major problems with Cell C
since August 2011 as we cannot get a Data
Signal.
You can see from
the attached Photograph, the signal is
indicated as excellent but there is no
Internet Assess.
We have thousands
of Photographs of the Signal problem, some
of which have been posted on Name and Shame.
We can forward them to you as well should
you require them.
We have published

He has not
responded to any of our emails, or requests
for a meeting. We have been unable to
get him to answer any of our emails ( see
PDF File attached ) and visit
Cell C is in a
Commercial Marking and Technical shambles,
and from our experience in particular, it is
a basket case which we believe cannot be
rescued. They have a no care attitude from
the Chairman Simon Duffy down. Their CEO
call centre is the worst we have ever had to
deal with.
Thousands of
people have lodged complaints on Hello Peter
A large number of
their Technical Staff have forwarded their
CV’s to us for assistance in finding new
employment possibilities, bur they are of
such poor quality or substandard that nobody
would want to employ them.
Resolution sought:
That Cell C be
stopped from any further Advertising of any
of their Products, or making false claims
about their Technical Ability, speeds etc
until the present problems are sorted out.
That Cell C be
directed to hire Signal / Band width from
MTN and or Vodacom to satisfy all their
existing Clients
That Cell C be
fined 10% of their Turnover for failing to
respond to any of our complaints or the
complaints on Hello Peter.
That the
Society of Professional Engineers appoint a
team to prepare a report and try get Cell C
back on track.

with a 60Gb data Card.for 12 months and WiFi
Router Plus R 45,000-00 wasted costs and

After seeing a massive Press
and TV campaign Conducted by Cell C using a
Comedian Trevor Noah who convinced the
Gullible South African Public to Purchase a
Supersonic Data deal with USB Speeds of
21.6Mbpsa, we purchased the two items shown
below..
To date Cell C have had a no care
attitude to the Problem, and must be the
most unreliable Company with the Worst Call
Centre. The Problem Continues and all you
get are Cheeky Call Centre Agents with no
brains..

We purchased the Router and
the data card as shown in their adverts from
the Cell C Outlet in Fourways Mall. They
could not even Invoice the two items from
their System as the Main Computer of Cell C
was down. It was Invoiced from a Pen Carbon
Book which the Shop assistant purchased from
the CNA.
THE FIRST PROBLEM End
August 2011
When investigating the issue
of our mail being rate limited by our
SMPT servers we uncovered the following
issue:
The Following email was sent to Cell C
We noted that the emails
being sent did not originate from the
customers IP address, but rather from a
common address on the Cell C network, namely
41.157.82.7. Over the course of the time
period we extracted logs for we noted
somewhere in the region of 6000 emails
originating from this IP address and a
significant portion of the mail seemed to be
registering as spam. Our assumption is that
this address relates to some type of
transparent cache or aggregation point on
the Cell C network rather than a single
user. This poses a problem in terms of the
manner in which our spam filters and rate
limiting operates and we will need to seek
Cell C’s co-operation to come up with a
suitable solution to the issue.
Further to this we also noted
that our customer seemed to have problems
initiating network traces to portions of
MWEB’s network and sending authenticated
mail through an alternative server, which
again indicated that there might be some
type of aggregation technology affecting the
connection.
On the trace that was
provided me (below) I’ve also noted that the
latency on portions of the path becomes very
high, which is a cause of some concern and
could indicate an underlying problem. Again
we would need feedback from Cell C on the
matter.
I am copying in both the
customer and the senior manager in our
Technology division responsible for mail
infrastructure on this communication.
Please could you assist us with this matter,
or provide us with the relevant contact
points within Cellc’s NOC that we could take
the matter further with.

THE SECOND PROBLEM
( email sent to Cell C )
We have
a 60GB Data Sim card and a Cell C Router.
The Card number is 084 525 5896. We have a
major Problem in that we think either the
settings are incorrect or Cell C is
switching capacity at certain hours which
cuts our service.( are you using Vodacom )
We
still have the unresolved problem with MWeb,
but we have terminated that service after 14
years and that is another story.
We also
at the time of purchase Changed our wireless
net Work Name from NetCommMyZone to
HoskingWireless and Gave a new Security Key
of our own. 10 days ago Cell C and it could
only be Cell C changed it back to
NetCommMyZone and gave it the Security key
''password'' WHY ?
From the
pictures you can see the problem, and we
have it also confirmed that capacity is
being Switched. If you look at the dates on
the picture is says that it is 1980 and
gives an IP address of 197.168.248.224 and
mnet0
Your
call centre agents don't understand
technical problems and the first Question
they ask is '' Is the Router plugded in and
is the Computer on. Our internet or network
is being switched from Nonetwork access to
No Networt .
I cannot
call you as your calls are blocked at your
switch Board.
Please
give me a Call by return as it is now a
major problem.
THE THIRD PROBLEM
The Cell C
High Speed '' Superfast'' Data Internet
access Across multiple devices is in
fact so slow it has Difficulty connecting
with Skype.
Skype
have sent a message back to my Computer as
shown below '' The connection between you is
too slow for Good video. Turn off your
Video.''
It is also almost
impossible to open Google using a Cell C
Data card.
